Sunday Morning Children’s Ministry

NURSERY

Our volunteers are specially trained in nursery care and ready to assist you and your children. Our nursery is equipped with swings, cribs, rocking chairs and appropriate age level toys. When you sign your child in, you will be assigned a number which will be shown in the main sanctuary if you are needed during the service.

PRE-SCHOOL

(3 years old through pre-K)

Classes are divided into three age groups: 2 year-olds, 3 year-olds, and Pre K (4 year-olds and 5 year-olds who have yet to begin Kindergarten). These classes have volunteers who have been trained to serve the unique needs of these age groups. Each class includes time for worship, prayer, a bible story, a craft and closing activities. Parents/Responsible Adults sign-in their children at the appropriate class prior to the start of services and return to the same classroom to retrieve them after the service has concluded. For safety purposes, children will only be released to the person who signed them in.

ELEMENTARY AGE CHILDREN’S CHURCH

nutsforjesus(Kindergarten through Fifth Grade)

During each Sunday service we provide individual classes for our elementary age children. The curriculum we use at this age level is called “Nuts for Jesus”, a “through-the-Bible” curriculum developed by our own Children’s Ministry staff. In this program, we teach the Bible from beginning to end every five years. As with our other age groups, parents/responsible adults sign the children into their respective classrooms. Our teachers and assistants then escort each class to the fellowship hall for corporate worship and a drama presentation by our “Nuts for Jesus” ministry team that introduces the lesson for the week. The children then return to their classes for follow-up instruction, crafts and classroom games and activities. Parents/Responsible adults then return to the classroom to retrieve their children at the conclusion of the service.

CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Understanding that families with children who have special needs face unique challenges when attending church, our Children’s Ministry has put together a Sunday School class designed to provide the staffing and services required to minister to these special kids!  This class is offered at our 11:15am service (third service) every Sunday morning.  For more information about the program, please contact Terese Coburn at tcoburn@ccgv.org.
