Who Needs Theology?

As we take time to examine various elements of theology, it is worth asking a question about our motives: why should we care about theology? Is theology just a study for pastors, missionaries or church leaders? Is the study of God something that should concern every Christian?

In his book "Knowing God," J.I. Packer tackles this question in his first chapter, The Study of God. The following is an excerpt from his book.
