Looking Forward

“Not that I already obtained this or am already made perfect… But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

The year 2007 is almost behind us. For some, thoughts of the past year are sweet and satisfying. For others, the time passed so quickly we can hardly remember what happened! Still others look back and experience deep pain due to unexpected circumstances or personal crisis. Whatever the case may be, the Christian – the person who is living in a right-relationship with Jesus Christ – can look forward with absolute confidence that God is both sovereign and loving and that His plans for our future are good and intended for our eventual (and eternal) benefit! (Jeremiah 29:12). We hope the following events, Bible studies, and classic books will encourage you to continue “straining forward to what lies ahead” as you begin this new year with Jesus!
