Event: Meet the Frosh @ Sky High
Cost: $10 to jump, plus bring some $$ for dinner

The incoming freshmen will be arriving in high school on Sunday, June 15. In order to rightly welcome them and get to know them a bit more, we are going to Sky High Sports in Sacramento. (this is trampoline heaven). All high school students are welcome!

What began 10 years ago as a small trip of several guys devoted to surfing and Jesus, has now morphed into an epic week of 75+ high school students, a dedicated cooking staff, and road trip extravaganza known simply as ‘Beach Camp.’

For many students, Beach Camp has become one of the highlights of high school ministry. Because of the beauty of Southern California beaches, the relaxed format of the week, solid Bible teaching, gourmet food and time with friends, it stacks up to be quite a week.

This year we have made our reservations at San Clemente State Beach for April 4-9. We are anticipating yet another great camp as we focus on the theme of “redemption.”  Check out the picture gallery and highlight video from last year to get a taste of what Beach Camp is about.

As this is the first Wednesday of the new year, we are setting the night aside for a time of prayer and worship. I can’t think of a better way to begin the year than by singing of God’s goodness, faithfulness, grace and power.

Along with Peter Burton leading us in a time of worship, we are setting aside a portion of the night to pray together as a group. A time to thank God for his goodness. A time to plead with God for our schools, friends, family and church. A time to ask God to fill us with his Spirit and lead us into this new year.

Make it a point to join us this Wedesday, January 7th at 7:00pm. See you then!

WHAT IS THIS? We are combining two really great ideas: ding-dong-ditch and helping those in need. We will split up into teams and help deliver food baskets to those families that can use some help this Christmas.

WHEN IS THIS? Meet at the church on Saturday, December 20th at 4:00pm. We will pass out the baskets, meet back at Brett and Annie’s house, eat some dinner and be back at the church by 10:00pm.

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW? Be sure to sign up in the high school room so we know how many people to expect.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS THING COST? $5 covers the whole night.

damian horne

This Wedesday we are excited to let you know about a guest musician who will be leading worship for us. Damain Horne is solid musician and worship leader at Elevation Church.

My first memories of Damian are at my high school freshman orientation where Damian’s band Silage was on stage. All I remember is that it was nice and loud, lots of guitar and some guy playing a trombone. No promises of trombones this Wednesday night, but a great night of worship and sermon by Pastor Todd.

DATE: August 30th, 1:00pm-6:00pm

DETAILS: $10 gets you an afternoon the lake as we enjoy the last moments of summer. Bring a bathing suit and towel as we will be wake boarding, tubing, relaxing and then BBQing on Lake Combie.

DIRECTIONS: Combie Road towards Forest Lake School; go 2.5 miles and turn RIGHT on Robles Dr; go 0.3 miles and turn right on Lakeview Place.

DETAILS: We are hiking down to Emerald Bay and going to Meeks Bay for lunch (provided) and then an afternoon on the beach. Meet at the church by 8:00am and we will return by 5:00pm that evening.

WHAT TO BRING:

• extra snacks/extra $$ for snack bar (lunch provided)
• Shoes for hiking
• Shoes/sandals to play in the sand
• Drinking water for hike
• Bathing Suit (girls – one piece//guys – no speedo)
